Species Diversity of Empididae (Diptera) in Siirt Province, Turkey

The adults of the Empidid flies are small to medium-sized, usually shiny black or densely grey dusted species. very important in pollination because they flower visitors. Turkey has a wide variety habitats and species diversity. Although it seems consist mostly flat plains, mountainous regions also found east northeast parts. For this reason, diversity increased. Siirt province is rich steppe but forests cover less space summers quite hot arid. variable elevation positively affects This study was carried out between 2014-2016. Specimens were collected from different with using hand net. As result field studies, 15 empidid determined Province. Among these species, five belong genus Hilara ten Empis. And also, clavidipes Chvála, 2008, H. freidbergi 2008 fusitibia Strobl, 1899 new records for Turkish fauna. When we compare number Empididae family world Europe, known relatively low, thus constituting idea that should be better screened local faunistic studies.
